Negligence Suit Filed Against Hospital

Posted on February 11th, 2009 9 Comments

In December, a woman who was being treated at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center wandered off and died on the roof of the facility. She was dressed in a hospital gown and slippers on a day when temperatures hit 24 degrees.

In order to get to the roof, the stroke victim and patient had to walk through three doors that should have been locked and/or alarmed. However she was lost by the hospital staff and not found until the next day when it was already too late.

The woman's family has filed a wrongful death and negligence suit against the hospital. If you or someone you know has suffered from the negligence of health care professionals, contact the  Pennsylvania wrongful death attorneys of Lowenthal & Abrams at 215-329-3511.

  1. very wrong. These days hospitals pays very little attention towards their patients & have no concern for them.

Hmm strange this post is totaly irrelevant to the search query I entered in google but it was listed on the first page.

  3. Hrmm that was weird, my comment got eaten. Anyway I wanted to say that it’s nice to know that someone else also mentioned this as I had trouble finding the same info elsewhere. This was the first place that told me the answer. Thanks.

  4. Hey – nice blog, just looking around some blogs, seems a pretty nice platform you are using. I’m currently using WordPress for a few of my sites but looking to change one of them over to a platform similar to yours as a trial run. Anything in particular you would recommend about it?

I personally have embraced the new technologies and the CMS platforms, I think the new tools only make the web designs better. I am glad that new technologies are coming out in web design that make things easier, improved, and better looking for design.

  8. Well, this is my first visit to your blog! We are a group of volunteers and starting a new initiative in a community in the same niche. Your blog provided us valuable information to work on. You have done a marvellous job!

  9. Usually, you’d think that hospitals will be extremely disinfected locations that are kept clean of germs. Nevertheless, the spores produced by Clostridium tetani are really difficult and highly resistant to fluctuations in temperature. Therefore, open wounds triggered by surgical incisions too as childbirth, abscesses, websites of needle injections, burns, and crush injuries are all susceptible to tetanus. If you arrive towards the hospital to deal with 1 of these wounds, or if you undergo surgical treatment or childbirth in the hospital, you might be at risk for contracting tetanus within the healthcare service.
