The Hamot Medical Center in Pennsylvania has been sued, as well as The Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE). The law suit alleges that the hospital and CORE took part in the death of a teenage boy who had been injured in a snowboarding accident.
The suit alleges that the boy was still alive whenever doctors began to harvest his organs. The family of the boy state that according to records, their sons time of death was pronounced 27 minutes after the harvesting of his organs.
The hospital, doctors and CORE state that no wrong doing took place and that they followed standard operating procedures and protocols.
