Man Beaten to Death Near Ballpark

A 22 year-old-man lost his life after an altercation that took place near the Philadelphia Phillies' ballpark.  The incident started when two groups were told to leave a bar after creating a commotion.  The groups went outside and then began to fight with each other.  The man that lost his life was assaulted in this melee that had over 20 people fighting with each other at one point. 

The man was beaten severely and emergency officials were called.  The man was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he would be pronounced dead.

Former American Idol Contestant Killed in Hit-and-Run

A former contestant on American Idol for 2007 and 2008 from Allentown, Pennsylvania was killed in a recent hit-and-run accident. The contestant became famous after launching a tirade at the judges after being turned down.  

No details on a suspect are currently available.  The autopsy performed confirmed that trauma from the hit-and-run was the cause of death. The accident took place in New Jersey, and officials are still investigating.  Authorities have asked for anyone with information regarding the accident to come forward and provide details.

Woman Killed in Turnpike Accident

An investigation is ongoing into an accident that left a Pennsylvania woman dead late Tuesday night. 

The accident took place on a turnpike and involved an SUV and a tractor-trailer.  The SUV and tractor-trailer crashed head-on with each other.  After the initial collision, another collision occurred with the SUV and a truck.  

A woman and a small child were inside the SUV.  The two were taken to a hospital for treatment of their injuries.  The woman eventually died in the hospital from her injuries. 

The investigation into the accident continues.

15 Year-Old Boy Killed by Train

A 15 year-old boy from western Pennsylvania is dead after he was hit by a train last Thursday. 

The boy was attempting to cross some train tracks when a train was approaching.  The boy managed to cross the tracks of the first train, but did not realize that another train was coming in the opposite direction on separate tracks. 

The boy was taken to a hospital as medical professionals attempted to treat him.  The young boy died nearly an hour after being hit in the hospital.

Accident on Interstate 79 Claims Life

An accident that took place on Wednesday on Interstate 79 in Pennsylvania has claimed the life of a 19 year-old teenage girl. The wreck occurred in Greene County.  

The accident occurred when the teenager driver lost control of the vehicle.  It is reported that after losing control of her car,  the girl crossed the median and struck a semi-truck head-on.  

Police have stated that the girl was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.  The driver of the semi-truck was not hurt in the accident.

Man Dies from Accident

A Pennsylvania man has recently died from injuries that were inflicted upon him nearly two months ago in a car accident. 

The man, a 47 year-old, was a resident of Chestnuthill Township.  The man died from multiple injuries while being treated at a hospital. 

The accident occurred when the man was driving on Route 209.  Another vehicle swerved into the man's lane, causing a head-on accident between the two vehicles.  The other man was released nearly a month ago from the hospital.

Officer Remains Suspened Following Hit-and-Run Case

A police officer from Crafton remains suspended but with pay in his involvement with a hit-and-run accident left one pedestrian dead.

The accident took place in July of 2007, and only until recently has the investigation been able to identify the individual responsible.  The pedestrian that was killed was a 24 year-old man.  

The man charged in the death attempted to repair his vehicle without others knowing to help hide that an accident took place.

Woman Killed After Hit by Semi-Truck

A woman on a motorcycle has been killed following an accident on Wednesday that took her life and seriously injured her husband.

The accident took place Wednesday afternoon.  The motorcycle appeared to be pulling over on the side of the road according to reports.  At this point, a semi-truck was attempting to pass them.  According to reports,  this is when the motorcycle pulled in front of the semi-truck as if it was attempting to complete a U-turn. The motorcycle was struck and the passengers ejected. 

Emergency crews rushed to the scene and took the man to the hospital. The woman died at the scene of the accident.

Teen Worker Killed in Firework Accident

A Pennsylvania teenager was killed in a fireworks show accident.  The 19 year-old teenager was helping put on a firework show in Quakertown, Pennsylvania when the accident took place.
 
A fireworks shell misfired near the ground and exploded.  This caused pieces of the firework to act as shrapnel and shoot near the ground.  The teenager was struck in the chest and in the neck from the debris.  Workers and emergency officials rushed to the boys side to assist him, and took the worker to the hospital.
 
The worker was pronounced dead at the hospital.  The company has stated that they are cooperating with investigators to determine what went wrong.

Policeman Charged in Fatal Hit and Run

A police officer in Pittsburgh has recently turned himself in for causing a fatal accident on July of 2007.  The officer recently turned himself in, accompanied with his lawyer,  on Friday.  The man fled the scene of the accident, and called a friend to go and check on the person that he hit.

The man had been with the police officer for 15 years.  The man still remains on the force as of now, although it is likely to change in the future. 

More information should soon be released related to the investigation into the hit and run, and the charges that the officer will soon face.
