A 64-year-old Penn Hills woman was found dead in her home after an early-morning fire Wednesday, authorities said. Her bed was in the living room near some windows because of her health condition, authorities said, but she was found dead about five feet from the front of her home.Officials believe she died of smoke inhalation.
The woman lived alone, authorities said. Two neighbors kicked in the door and tried to help, authorities said, but the smoke in the house was too thick. She is believed to have been smoking in bed when her bed caught fire.
