A 16-year-old boy died in Fayetteville, Pa., Sunday morning after two back-to-back crashes, authorities said. The boy was a passenger in a truck driven by an 18-year-old man who fell asleep at the wheel, police said. The pickup struck an embankment, rolled onto its side and slid across the road, authorities said, where it was hit by an oncoming car in the westbound lane. It came to a stop in the eastbound lane, where it was hit by another vehicle.
The teen was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple blunt-force trauma to his chest and neck, authorities said. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital, as well as the drivers of the two other vehicles involved in the accident.
